Fiverr — Customer Service
I bought a single $8.78 gig on a brand-new Fiverr account. I never got to use it. The next day, Fiverr permanently suspended my account. Their ban email gave the reason as “irregular account activity” — automated detection, automated enforcement, no human review before it happened.
Fiverr’s own support team then canceled the order and told me the refund would be credited to my “Fiverr Balance” — which does me no good, since the account that would let me access that balance is the one Fiverr permanently banned.
I disputed the $8.78 charge with my bank twice. Both disputes were denied — my bank sided with Fiverr and told me to resolve it with the merchant directly.
I opened a support ticket with Fiverr asking for either reinstatement or a specific written explanation. Fiverr’s first reply was pure boilerplate. When I pushed for detail, a second Fiverr support agent gave me a different reason than the original ban email — this time “spam activity,” described as unsolicited messaging unrelated to a gig or order. Fiverr provided no evidence for either version of the story, and told me outright that accounts disabled this way are never reinstated.
So: one purchase, one reply to a seller message, a permanently banned account within 24 hours, two different official reasons from Fiverr that don’t match each other, no money back, and no real explanation. In my opinion, Fiverr’s automated moderation is trigger-happy and their appeals process exists to close tickets, not resolve them.
I will never use Fiverr again, and anyone considering it should understand they’re using the platform entirely at their own risk. This site’s scale bottoms out at 1/5; my actual rating is 0/5.
